Tarot, Kabbalah, and the Hermetic Ascent
In this presentation, we discuss the Hermetic model as a map of union with the Divine. We look at the technique of contemplative reflection using imagery to promote virtue and curb vices. Using an art history approach, we will trace a symbolic lineage through engravings, alchemical emblems, tracing boards, and popular Tarot decks to highlight some Masonic symbolism.
Biography
Nathan is the Grand Chaplain for the Grand Lodge of Arizona and a Master Ritualist for that jurisdiction. He is a member of Glendale Lodge #23, Scottish Rite Valley of Tucson, Sun City Royal Arch Chapter of York Rite, and Arizona Research Lodge #1. In 2023, he published The Grand Communication: Freemasonry’s Alchemical Quest for Divine Communion with Tria Prima Press. He has been a guest on a number of podcasts discussing different aspects of Masonic symbolism and history and is excited to return as a presenter for the Esotericism in Freemasonry Conference.
